Welcome to Woodfield Dental! I’m Dr. Christian Duran, and I’m honored to be part of your dental journey. Dentistry is my passion because it blends the precision of science with the creativity of art, and it allows me to make a real difference in people’s lives. Whether it’s relieving pain, restoring someone’s smile, or just keeping your teeth healthy, I’m driven by the impact we can achieve together.
My approach to dentistry is rooted in education and collaboration, and one of the things I enjoy most about being a dentist is working with you to figure out what’s best for your smile. I’m a big believer in patient education and taking the time to talk things through and using digital images to help you understand what’s going on. Once you know the “why” behind a treatment, we can work together to create a personalized plan that’s just as unique as you are.
I attended the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Western Ontario, earning both a Bachelor of Medical Sciences and Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. I graduated with distinction and was named to the Dean’s Honour List each year, but my commitment tolearning didn’t stop there. I keep up with the latest techniques and treatments by regularly attending conferences and continuing education courses. This helps me provide you with advanced care such as root canal therapy, moderate sedation, Botox, wisdom teeth removal, and dental implants.
Beyond clinical care, giving back is a cornerstone of my values. I’ve had the privilege of traveling to remote communities in Peru, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua on mission trips to provide much-needed dental care to those with limited access. These experiences remind me why I do what I do and are a big part of what keeps me grounded and inspired in my work.
Outside the office, I’m a die-hard Toronto Maple Leafs fan and love traveling to explore new places. In the winter, you’ll often find me hitting the slopes on my snowboard, while in the summer, I’m working on my golf game (and learning to embrace the challenge!). At home, I enjoy experimenting in the kitchen with my fiancée—my current obsession is making a tableside Caesar salad.
